Amethyst & Hyacynth
● Amethyst gets its purple color from iron and natural radiation within quartz; heat or strong sunlight can fade or even change its color, which is why some yellow “citrine” on the market is actually heat-treated amethyst.
● Amethyst is a crystalline variety of quartz with a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, making it durable enough for everyday jewelry while still being easy to cut and polish into detailed shapes.
● Hyacinth ranges from fiery red-orange to golden tones, making it one of the most strikingly colorful gemstones.
● Some hyacinth crystals are billions of years old, formed in Earth’s early history, making them incredibly ancient compared to most other gemstones.
