August Birthstones:
Peridot, Moonstone & Spinel
● Peridot is one of the few gemstones that has been found in meteorites, making it a gem that naturally occurs both on Earth and in space.
● Moonstone appears to glow from within because of a unique optical effect called adularescence, which is caused by the way light passes through the stone.
● Spinel was often mistaken for ruby for centuries, and several famous “rubies” in royal crown jewels have since been identified as spinels.
